DeKalb County Railroad Crossings to Close for Repairs

SYCAMORE – Several railroad crossings in DeKalb County will temporarily close for scheduled repairs between now and Nov. 13. The DeKalb County Highway Department said Perry Road between Waterman Road and South First Street will close Oct. 14 through 19, followed by U.S. Route 30 between University Road and Kane Road from Oct. 18 through 21 and Chicago Road between Shabbona Road and Harper Road from Oct. 19 through 21. Rollo Road between Suydam Road and Chicago Road will close Oct. 27 through 30. West Suydam Road between Rollo Road and Whitman Road will close Oct. 31 through Nov. 3, while another section between South Paw Paw Road and Radley Road will close Nov. 10 through 13. All crossings are scheduled to close at 4 a.m. on the first day listed and reopen by 5 p.m. on the final day. Detours will be posted, and motorists should allow extra travel time. Dates and times are subject to change.
