DeKalb Council Considers Annexation for New Commerce Center

DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council approved a proposal to annex roughly 114 acres at the southeast corner of Peace Road and Fairview Drive for the DeKalb Commerce Center Monday night, a planned industrial and commercial business park anchored by a Pilot Travel Center. The project, on the former Diedrich farm, would include a gas station and convenience store, truck fueling and parking, and potential restaurants, smaller industrial buildings, and a hotel. The council voted to rezone the property from single-family residential to planned development industrial, allow waivers for signage height and size, site coverage, and streamlined approval of Lot 1’s final development plan.
