DeKalb Approves Funding for Economic Development, Tourism, Chamber Events, and Municipal Band

DEKALB — The City of DeKalb approved funding agreements for 2026 totaling $161,088 to support economic development, tourism, community events, and the municipal band. The city allocated $35,000 to the DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation to assist with business attraction, retention, and planning, $50,000 to the DeKalb County Convention and Visitors Bureau to promote regional tourism, $35,000 to the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce to manage downtown programs including the Farmers’ Market and seasonal events, and $41,088 to the DeKalb County Community Foundation for the DeKalb Municipal Band’s summer performance season. All agreements were included in the city’s FY2026 budget.
