DAVIS JUNCTION – The Davis Junction Village Board met earlier this month approving an emergency expenditure of $13,464.80 for a Route 72 water leak repair, and change order No. 3 for the Gateway Subdivision infrastructure project, delaying HMA paving until 2026. Village staff reported extensive snow removal operations, community support efforts, and discussed potential expansion of the July 3rd celebration with live music, vendors, and fireworks, in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday. The board received updates on ongoing issues including snow plowing jurisdiction on Edson Road and North Junction Road with the City of Rockford, with a discussion of consolidating maintenance and potential truck route plans. Trustees also discussed Verizon’s disputed water tower lease and proposed equipment upgrades, agreeing to have village engineers review the plans before responding.
