Cubs Win In Philadelphia, White Sox Lose To Tampa Bay

The Chicago Cubs had 15 hits Tuesday night as they beat the Philadelphia Phillies 10-4.

Carson Kelly had a 3-run home run and Nico Hoerner and Alex Bergman each had 3 RBI for the Cubs.

Colin Rea picked up his second win for the season throwing the first 6 innings. He gave up a 3-run home run in the second inning and then retired 16 of the next 17 batters.

The rubber game in the series will be played on Wednesday night in Philadelphia.

The Tampa Bay Rays won their 4th straight game Tuesday night as they beat the Chicago White Sox 8-5 at Rate Field.

Shane McClanahan threw the first 5 innings to pick up his first win in nearly 3 years for the Rays.

Ryan Vilade had 3 hits and an RBI along with 2 doubles and 3 RBI from Ben Williamson for Tampa Bay.

Rookie left hander Nick Schultz took the loss for Chicago as he pitched the first 4 1/3 innings. He allowed 4 runs on 3 hits.

Everson Pereira had a 3-run home run and Munetaka Murakami a 2-run homer for the White Sox.

Game 2 in the series is Wednesday night in Chicago.
