Creston Updates Water Projects, Property Demolition Plans

CRESTON — Creston officials said delays have slowed a planned demolition at 209 W. Depot St., with a judge rescheduling a hearing to early February, though preliminary steps will continue. Building in the subdivision continues, with two foundations underway and more permits expected. Trustees last week also reviewed infrastructure projects, including near-complete water tower control work and revisions to the South Street water main project. The village last year approved a $198,000 bid for the water main, and permits have not yet been submitted. Creston is also seeking a new engineering firm and may hold a comprehensive plan meeting with University of Illinois representatives.
