ROCHELLE — A cold weather warning will be in effect Friday from 3 a.m. to noon for portions of central, north central, and northeast Illinois, with wind chills between 30 and 40 below zero expected, according to weather officials. The warning notes frostbite could occur on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes, and residents are urged to limit time outdoors and take precautions to protect homes and vehicles during the extreme cold.
