CHICAGO – An 85-year-old Chicago man has been convicted of sexually abusing a fellow passenger aboard an international flight from Vienna, Austria, to Chicago in August 2024. Federal prosecutors say Josip Pasic repeatedly touched the passenger’s thigh and groin area over the victim’s objections during the Aug. 17 flight on Austrian Airlines. The victim recorded some of the incidents on a cellphone and showed the footage to a flight attendant before being moved to another part of the plane. Following a three day trial, U.S. District Judge Andrea Wood found Pasic guilty of abusive sexual contact aboard an aircraft. He faces up to two years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.
