AMBOY – About 200 people were evacuated from O’Connell’s RV Resort and Campground in Amboy Sunday due to rising floodwaters. The Lee County Emergency Management Agency ordered the evacuation around 9 a.m. and said the campground entrance was flooded, preventing vehicles from leaving. Evacuees were taken to a nearby grocery store, with Amboy Central School used as a reunification site. The National Weather Service flood warning for Lee County remains in effect through 11 a.m. Monday.
