Byron Man’s Double Murder Trial Nears Closing Arguments

BYRON — Closing arguments are scheduled to begin today in the trial of Duane Meyer, a 43-year-old Byron man accused of starting a fire in October 2016 that killed his ex-wife, 31-year-old Margaret Meyer, and their 3-year-old son, Amos. Prosecutors allege Meyer intentionally set the fire at a home on Silverthorn Avenue. Meyer, arrested in 2019, faces four counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated arson, and one count of concealing a homicidal death. He has pleaded not guilty.
