ROCHELLE — Organizers with Hope Chest, a nonprofit that supports Hope of Ogle County in Rochelle, say a Blackstone grill being raffled to raise money for domestic violence survivors was stolen sometime last week. The raffle was part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and proceeds were to help repair a house used by clients receiving counseling and support. Staff on social media called the theft “heartbreaking,” noting that all funds raised through Hope Chest directly benefit Hope of Ogle County. Despite the loss, organizers thanked community members for their continued donations and support, saying they remain focused on moving forward.
