The Bears are adding another piece to their defensive backfield. They signed veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
He played last season with the defending champion Eagles and had short stints this season with the Texans and the Ravens.
Gardner-Johnson is expected to replace cornerback Kyler Gordon, who is on the injured reserve with groin and calf injuries. He has 18 interceptions in seven seasons.
