OREGON – Autumn on Parade will return to downtown Oregon on Oct. 3 and 4, bringing two days of shopping, food, entertainment and family activities to one of northern Illinois’ longest running fall festivals. The free event will feature more than 200 vendors, a kids zone, classic cars, tractors and one of the largest parades in northern Illinois on Sunday.
“For over 50 years, families have been making memories at Autumn on Parade,” festival committee member Meggan Dickson said during an interview on 102.3 The Coyote. “It’s really cool that now we’re seeing grandparents bring grandchildren to the same festival they grew up attending. It’s pretty incredible. It’s a tradition that connects generations.”
Dickson said organizers remain committed to keeping the festival free through the support of volunteers, sponsors and local businesses. “Autumn on Parade is completely free, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of,” she said. “We believe everyone should be able to enjoy the festival without budget restraints.”
This year’s theme is “Autumn Antics,” and organizers have introduced new merchandise, including mugs, tote bags, scarves and other items, with proceeds benefiting the festival. Dickson also encouraged businesses to participate in the event’s sponsorship program. “It’s a partnership, not just a logo on a banner,” she said. “Every sponsorship matters, and every dollar goes right back into creating a better festival and supporting our community.”
