Alfano receives Rochelle community award

ROCHELLE – An area businessman was honored with the annual award presented during the holiday season in Rochelle. Mayor John Bearrows presented Pete Alfano with the 16th annual Rochelle Community Gratitude Award on Friday. The ceremony took place following the Light Up Lincoln Parade and Christmas Walk. Bearrows recognized Alfano for supporting schools and helping families during difficult times. The mayor noted that Alfano teaches local youth by leading by example. Alfano returned to Rochelle to run his family business and honor a promise to his grandfather, opening Alfano’s Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant.
