POLO — The Rock River Valley Blood Center is hosting a community blood drive today at Crossroads Community Church, 205 North Jefferson Avenue in Polo, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The center said it provides blood for 14 area hospitals and depends on consistent donations. Donors are asked to bring a photo ID. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said summer travel can reduce donation turnout even as medical needs remain steady.
Anderson said, “We appreciate every donor who shows up because it directly supports patients in our hospitals. The need is constant throughout the year.”
