The season has come to an end for the NIU Huskies in baseball as they lost both games on Sunday in the NCAA Tallahasee Regional.
After being rained out on Saturday, NIU lost to St. John’s by the score of 21-8.
NIU led 5-0 after 3 innings. St. John’s then scored 9 runs in the 4th inning and 6 runs in the 5th inning as they had 20 hits in the game.
In the elimination game, NIU lost in 10 innings to Florida State 7-4.
FSU scored on a sac fly and a 2-run home run in the 10th inning.
NIU finished the season with a record of (36-19). The 36 wins is a school record.
The win for the Huskies over Coastal Carolina was the first in the program at the NCAA Baseball Championship.
