SYCAMORE — The DeKalb County Community Foundation has established the YEP Changemakers Scholarship Fund in memory of Kurt D. Hudson, created by board member Brenda Jergens and her family. The fund will provide long-term support for an annual $1,000 scholarship awarded to graduating senior members of the Youth Engaged in Philanthropy program who demonstrate leadership, service, and commitment to their communities. The scholarship can be used for tuition or educational expenses at accredited colleges, universities, community colleges, or trade schools. The YEP program, launched in 2022, gives students hands-on experience in philanthropy and grantmaking. The scholarship recipient is announced each May during the final YEP meeting of the school year.
