SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board has opened applications for the Fiscal Year 2026 Law Enforcement Camera Grant, offering more than $56 million in state funding for police agencies across Illinois. The grant provides up to $3 million per agency to purchase officer-worn body cameras, in-car video systems, related data storage and licensing, and training for proper use. Funding options include reimbursements, advance payments, and working capital advances, with eligible pre-award costs dating back to July 1, 2025. Police departments, counties, park districts, public universities, and other local government units in Illinois can apply through the AmpliFund portal by 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 31.
