Foundation Establishes Fund Honoring Late Sycamore Educator Yvonne Johnson

SYCAMORE — The DeKalb County Community Foundation has established the Yvonne A. Johnson and Family Legacy Endowment Fund to honor the longtime Sycamore educator’s commitment to learning and community service. Johnson, who died in 2023 at age 92, taught in Sycamore schools for more than 50 years and supported numerous local causes. The new fund will provide ongoing support to organizations including Tails Humane Society, Family Service Agency, Sycamore Public Library, and several local libraries, as well as educational programs at Northern Illinois University, Kishwaukee College, and Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital.
