Blood Drive Scheduled Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle

ROCHELLE — Rock River Valley Blood Center will hold a community blood drive Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 14206 E. Flagg Road, in Rochelle. Donors are needed to help maintain the local blood supply for hospitals throughout northern Illinois. Maggie Anderson, donor recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said blood is a resource that cannot be created without volunteers. “Blood banks, including the Rock River Valley Blood Center, often face shortages, especially during holidays and emergencies, making consistent donations essential,” Anderson said. The center collects, tests and distributes donated blood, which can be separated into components including red blood cells, plasma and platelets to help multiple patients.
