Vistra Corp Plans to Close Three Illinois Power Plants in Baldwin, Kincaid and Newton, 304 Workers Affected

NEWTON – A power company plans to shut down three Illinois facilities in the next 18 months. The Peoria Journal Star reports that Vistra Corp. intends to close plants in Baldwin, Kincaid and Newton, affecting a total of 304 workers. A Vistra spokesperson said the Baldwin Solar Facility, which sits on coal plant property, will continue operating after the retirement of the Baldwin Power Plant.
