SYCAMORE – The annual Sycamore Pumpkin Festival Parade will step off at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, closing out five days of activities celebrating the festival’s 65th year. Parade Chairman Jerome Perez said organizers have about 118 entries so far, including 14 bands. The parade is expected to last about an hour and a half and will follow the route along Somonauk, Elm, California, State and Main streets. The Sycamore Chamber 10K Pumpkin Run begins at 8:30 a.m., while carnival rides will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Craft shows, food vendors and other festival activities will also be available.
Perez encouraged visitors to arrive early because parking near the parade route fills quickly. “So my suggestion is if you come on parade day, come early because the parking disappears pretty quickly around the parade route.”
He said the morning race is another major part of Sunday’s schedule. More information about the parade and other festival activities is available on the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival website.
