SCOTUS To Consider Challenge On Cook Co’s Ban On Magazines, Specific Firearms

CHICAGO  —  The U.S. Supreme Court will consider a challenge to Cook County’s ban on specific weapons later this year.  The challenge stems from a lawsuit filed against county officials by three county residents and two gun rights organizations.  The county ordinance that bans the possession, use and sale of specific rifles and large capacity magazines.  The Cook County case is separate from another suit challenging Illinois’ statewide ban on certain rifles.
