OREGON — The Oregon Park District will host a grand opening for Oregon Park East on May 18 with activities beginning at 4:30 p.m. The $1.2 million project began last spring and includes a new playground and an ADA accessible trail connection. Crews removed some trees due to disease or damage. The project includes planting 40 new trees, 24 shrubs, and 60 perennial plants to improve the park landscape. Funding includes $600,000 from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
