FRANKLIN GROVE – The annual Nachusa Grasslands Fall Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Nachusa Grasslands Visitor Center, 2075 Lowden Road in Franklin Grove. The event will feature prairie tours where visitors can look for bison, guided hiking tours, a hands on Discovery Tent, a live birds of prey program, music by Mike Crowe, food trucks, kettlecorn, face painting and shuttle service from the parking area to the visitor center. The prairie tours will run from 10:15 a.m. to 3 p.m., while guided hikes will depart from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can also explore a self guided plant identification walking path. Parking is $5 per vehicle, and donations will be accepted at the Welcome Pavilion and Bison Tours Tent. The festival is open to the public and will be held rain or shine with no rain date.
