Motorcyclist Injured In Crash Near Mount Morris

MOUNT MORRIS – A 51-year-old Schiller Park man was injured Sunday in a car versus motorcycle crash in the 6000 block of West Illinois Route 64 near Mount Morris. Ogle County sheriff’s deputies said the motorcyclist was westbound on Route 64  when he allegedly attempted to pass an 2016 SUV driven by 55-year-old Mount Morris woman. Her turn signal reportedly was activated as she began turning south into a driveway. The motorcycle lost control and went onto its side in the eastbound lane before striking the driver’s side of the vehicle.  The Schiller Park man was treated at the scene by Mount Morris EMS and transported to Mercyhealth Hospital in Rockford by Mercyhealth React helicopter. Deputies were assisted by the Mount Morris Police Department, Mount Morris Fire and EMS, Mercyhealth React and MD-1. No citations were issued.
