Brandon Johnson Announces Reelection Bid

CHICAGO  —  Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is running for reelection.  Johnson announced his run for a second term yesterday.  He called for additional funding for public schools, more affordable housing and mental health resources and demanded that the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes.  Johnson faces a lengthy list of opponents in next year’s election, including Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, State Comptroller Susana Mendoza, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley and Cook County Board of Review Commissioner George Cardenas.
