MONROE CENTER — A 34-year old Frazee, Minnesota, driver was arrested Thursday following a crash at Illinois Route 72 and North Limestone Road. Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies said the driver was traveling west on Route 72 behind the semi, which slowed to turn onto North Limestone Road. The driver allegedly failed to slow, left the roadway and entered a ditch before crossing North Limestone Road and becoming airborne. The vehicle landed in a ditch on the northwest corner of the intersection. The semi was not struck. After an investigation, the Minnesota driver was arrested for DUI drugs, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was also cited for failure to reduce speed and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. They were taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford for evaluation.
