DeKalb And Sycamore Townships To Hold Shred And Recycle Event

DEKALB – DeKalb and Sycamore Township residents can take part in a drive through shred and recycle event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in the Kishwaukee Family YMCA parking lot at 2500 Bethany Road in Sycamore. Residents can bring up to two banker sized boxes or paper bags of personal documents or CD Rs for secure shredding. Other items accepted for recycling or reuse include tennis shoes, eyeglasses, hearing aids, keys and key fobs, inkjet cartridges, aluminum can tabs, cellphones and chargers, tablets and chargers, and prepaid calling cards. Volunteers will unload items from vehicles. The event is open only to DeKalb and Sycamore Township residents, who must provide valid identification showing residency. Collected items will be donated to the Lions of Illinois Foundation.
