Illinois Tollway Adds Hot Weather Patrols During Heat Wave

DOWNERS GROVE — The Illinois Tollway has activated 24 hour Hot Weather Patrols to provide extra roadside assistance during the current heat wave. The crews are searching for stranded drivers and responding to calls made to *999 for help. The patrols assist with disabled vehicles, including flat tires, dead batteries, empty fuel tanks and overheated engines. Drivers needing assistance should call *999, turn on their hazard lights and remain with their vehicle until help arrives.
