ROCHELLE — The Blackhawk Hills Regional Council is bringing its Northwest Illinois Housing Design Competition exhibit to the Flagg Rochelle Public Library as part of a regional tour highlighting housing challenges and design solutions across six counties. The Rochelle exhibit will open with a reception today from 1 to 2 p.m. at 619 Fourth Ave. and will remain on display through July 31 during regular library hours. The traveling exhibit features competition entries focused on multigenerational living, accessibility, affordability, and universal design concepts, along with information on housing needs in Northwest Illinois. The display will also be shown in other counties later this year, including Lee County at The Next Picture Show in Dixon, where it will open in November 2026, with additional locations in Stephenson, Jo Daviess, Carroll, and Whiteside counties. Officials say each stop will include opportunities to view the designs and learn more about housing issues in the region.
