CHICAGO – Illinois reported continued growth in cannabis sales and dispensary access in its 2026 Annual Cannabis Report. More than 5 million adult use cannabis items were sold in July, the highest monthly total to date. The state issued 29 new dispensary licenses during the fiscal year and conducted 755 inspections. The report also highlights expanded access to medical cannabis and changes to state regulations under a new law passed in June.
