SYCAMORE — The annual Give DeKalb County campaign will take place May 7, offering a 24 hour opportunity for residents to support local nonprofits including the DeKalb County History Center through online, mail, and in person donations. Contributions will be boosted by a bonus pool funded by community partners, increasing the impact of each gift for participating organizations.
Executive Director Michelle Donahoe said, “We are hoping to raise about $35,000 this year, so it’s a lot of money, and our community has been very generous in the past. That bonus pool is really key because when you make a donation, it goes even further. All the participating nonprofits receive a percentage of that bonus pool, so it’s a great opportunity, especially today when everything seems to be more expensive.”
Organizers said the event brings nonprofits together while encouraging community support across DeKalb County.
