DEKALB – The DeKalb City Council Monday approved an amendment to the city’s communications site lease with Verizon Americas LLC for equipment at the East Water Tower at 1216 Market Street. The amendment allows for up to three additional five year terms after the current agreement expires in November 2030. Beginning Nov. 1, 2027, the monthly rent will be $3,925.85, with annual increases of 3.5% beginning in 2028. If all three additional terms are used, the agreement is expected to generate about $1.15 million in lease revenue for the city. The council also unanimously approved a $400,000 agreement with BSNA Software LLC to move the city’s Enterprise Resource Planning system from an on premise model to a cloud platform. The project will be funded through multiple municipal accounts.
