    Creston Trustees Approve 2025 Audit, Insurance Renewal

    CRESTON – The Village of Creston Board of Trustees approved the 2025 audit and renewed insurance policies Tuesday. Auditor Bill Newkirk issued a clean opinion, noting minor corrections for miscoded transactions and depreciation. Trustees voted 6-0 to renew general liability insurance with Tokyo Marine and Houston Casualty for $15,458 and workers’ compensation with Bituminous for $3,022, with competing quotes about $7,000 higher. The board also authorized a $12,000 transfer from the general fund to the motor fuel tax fund after a state audit, and adopted the FY 2026 property tax levy at $26,861, about $42 per resident.
