Illinois Reports Strong SAFE-T Act Training Compliance

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board reported near universal compliance among more than 12,000 active officers in the first SAFE-T Act training verification cycle. Officials said compliance remains near the state’s historical rate of 98 percent, with most remaining cases involving officers on leave or preparing to retire. The next verification cycle is scheduled to begin Oct. 1.
