— Hurricane Harbor Rockford, the ultimate summer destination in the Rockford area, is thrilled to splash into another exciting season filled with exhilarating water attractions, family-friendly experiences, and delicious summer bites. The waterpark opens for the 2026 season on May 30.
“As we kick off the season, we’re excited to welcome guests back to a place where family memories are made,” said Hardeep Lall, General Manager. “Hurricane Harbor Rockford offers summer thrills for all swimmers, whether you’re chasing adrenaline or just looking to unwind and spend time with friends.”
Guests can expect to enjoy a wide variety of attractions and experiences, including:
- Thrilling Water Slides – Experience an adrenaline rush on our major thrill slides, such as Tidal Wave, Typhoon Terror and Riptide Rush;
- Wave Pool – Catch some waves in Illinois’ largest wave pool, Tsunami Bay; and,
- Kids’ Areas – Little swimmers can splash and play in Little Lagoon and Caribbean Cove, complete with interactive water features and shallow areas.
In addition to refreshing water attractions, Hurricane Harbor Rockford will offer a variety of dining options and retail merchandise that are sure to keep guests fueled and energized throughout their visit. These new additions include:
- New Food & Beverage Offerings – Guests can enjoy hard scoop ice cream at Surfside Café, featuring classic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, along with a rotating seasonal option;
- Expanded Treats & Refreshments – New novelty ice cream debuts this season, with expanded selections available at Island Traders and a roaming ice cream cart offered on select days; and,
- Shark Bites Beach Bar – Open for its first full season, the bar will serve a variety of canned beverages and introduce warm Bavarian pretzels, adding fresh, convenient snack options for guests throughout the day.
