Man Charged After Alleged Strangulation in Sycamore Domestic Incident

SYCAMORE — A 48-year-old Sycamore man was arrested Tuesday evening after DeKalb County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a home on Somonauk Road. Michael A. Cohen was taken into custody and faces two counts of domestic battery, one count of aggravated battery, and one count of aggravated domestic battery after he allegedly attacked and strangled another person with a cord. Authorities said the victim is over the age of 60, which elevated the charges. Cohen was transported to the DeKalb County Jail ahead of a pretrial hearing.
