Participants Wanted For Rochelle Independence Day Parade

ROCHELLE — Rochelle’s annual Independence Day Parade, organized by the Rochelle VFW, will begin at 11 AM on July 4th, starting at City Hall and ending near Atwood and Cooper Parks.

Jenny Thompson, Director of Community Engagement with the city of Rochelle, said everyone should take part in the parade.

“I always like to say that the parade is what our community makes it,” she said. “So if you can decorate your car, your bike, your golf cart, whatever you have, come down and join the parade and just have some fun.”

Parade lineup begins at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall. The route travels through Downtown Rochelle, west on Lincoln Avenue, north on 9th Street, and west on 10th Avenue before ending at Atwood Park. No registration is required.
