Authorities Investigate Attempted Armed Robbery In Amboy

AMBOY — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Amboy Police Department are investigating an attempted armed robbery reported Wednesday at the Shell gas station at 342 North Mason Avenue in Amboy. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office or the Amboy Police Department. Residents north of the gas station with video surveillance are asked to review any footage if possible.
