DIXON — Emergency crews responded to two early morning fires over the weekend, including a shed fire Sunday near Monroe Avenue and West 1st Street and a residential fire Saturday on Spring Street in Nachusa. The shed was fully involved when Dixon City Fire Department, Dixon Rural Fire Protection District and Advance EMS arrived around 4:46 a.m., and no injuries were reported as the fire was extinguished and cleared by 8:30 a.m. The cause is under review by the State Fire Marshal. The residential fire was reported at 12:46 a.m. Saturday, and crews found a two story home with heavy fire throughout before bringing it under control and clearing the scene at 4:14 a.m. No injuries were reported, though several pets died. Multiple departments assisted in the response to both incidents.
