DIXON – The annual Christmas Walk returns to downtown Dixon on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., featuring the OSF Saint Katharine Medical Center tree lighting, free photos with Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, the Dixon Municipal Band, and local school choir performances. Visitors can enjoy street performers, costumed characters, lighted truck displays, a John Deere blacksmith, and prize tables at local businesses, while downtown shops offer treats, deals, and promotions.
Jennifer Lang of Discover Dixon said it is the perfect way to get into the Christmas season.
“It’s just a magical moment. It’s a great time to see your neighbors and friends in the streets,” she said. “The glistening snow that we can only hope for, the holiday lights going. And of course, we have a bunch of carolers roaming our streets, getting you into the holiday spirit”
Santa will be at Living Well Church, 116 E. First St., and horse-drawn rides will depart from Town Square Circle Drive, 102 S. Hennepin Ave., with activities and photo opportunities spread throughout the downtown area.
