IDOT Supports Possible Rapid Flashing Beacon for Route 72 Crosswalk in Davis Junction

DAVIS JUNCTION — The Illinois Department of Transportation told Ogle County Board Member Zach Oltmanns it supports the village seeking a permit to install a Rapid Flashing Beacon at Illinois 72 and Junction Road, saying the village would be responsible for installation and maintenance and could use MFT funds if needed. The department will complete a speed study to decide whether to change the current 40 mph limit, and Village Trustee Chris Samples said they will work with engineers to review project costs and available funding.
