Solar Storm Bring Northern Lights Across Stateline

ROCHELLE – Northern Illinois is seeing a chance to catch the Northern Lights as a solar storm sends energy toward Earth. The flare is boosting KP levels to between 6 and 7, pushing the aurora borealis farther south than usual. Clear skies are giving people in some areas a possible view of the swirling green and red spectacle if you look to the north and west.
