BYRON — The annual Byron Chamber ChiliFest returns to downtown this Saturday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., bringing chili tasting, live music, and family activities. Tasting begins at noon with a performance from Tall Expectations, and visitors can sample a variety of chili recipes before voting for the People’s Choice Award. Tickets are $10, and children 10 and under get in free. Family activities include face painting, pumpkin decorating, and coloring stations. Michelle Lorenz, executive director of the Byron Chamber, said, “One of my favorite events of the year. So individuals who’ve signed up, they get started cooking the chili.” Gates open at 11 a.m., and attendees receive a sampling card to try all the chili entries and vote for their favorite.
