Rochelle Community Hospital Launches Lemon-Themed Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Community Hospital is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a campaign using the Know Your Lemons® program to educate the public about breast cancer signs and symptoms. The initiative uses 12 lemons to illustrate different indicators of the disease, making breast health information more visual and accessible.

Radiology Manager Joy Miller said, “Breast cancers are being diagnosed younger and younger all the time, and we want to make sure that girls, young women, have all the information they need to start assessing those risks earlier and earlier.”

The campaign includes hospital staff visiting schools, businesses, and organizations, while providers at the RCH Family Healthcare Clinic will discuss screening and prevention during patient visits. Miller emphasized the importance of early detection, noting, “If you feel a lump, you need to reach out. There’s just so many women who want to pretend that it’s not there.”
