Oregon Residents Encouraged to Donate Blood Today

OREGON — Residents will have an opportunity to donate blood today when Rock River Valley Blood Center hosts a drive at Oregon Church of God. The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. at 860 W. Oregon Trail Road. The Rock River Valley Blood Center was founded in 1959 and has provided blood services in the region for more than 60 years. Maggie Anderson, donor recruiter with the center, said maintaining a steady supply depends on regular volunteer donors. Blood donations support patients receiving treatment for medical emergencies, surgeries and other health conditions.
