SYCAMORE — The DeKalb County History Center has completed its $1.9 million Campus Expansion Project and opened its new special exhibit, “We the People of DeKalb County.” The project included restoration of the historic corn crib as an outdoor stage and classroom, a new pavilion, expanded parking, improved gardens, and walking paths with interpretive panels. The work was supported by a $500,000 state grant along with local matching funds and private donations. History Center officials said the expansion creates a lasting community gathering space while preserving the county’s history as the nation marks its 250th anniversary.
