Freeport Man Charged After July 4th Ogle County Burglary

OREGON — An investigation into a July 4 burglary at a home in the 7000 block of West White Eagle Road near Adeline led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Freeport man and the recovery of several stolen items.  Detectives with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office identified a suspect vehicle during the investigation and located it July 7th at Casey’s General Store in Oregon, where the driver was detained for questioning. Detectives later obtained a search warrant and, with assistance from the Ogle County Special Operations Unit and the Freeport Police Department, searched a home in the 500 block of West American Street in Freeport on July 8th, recovering several stolen items. Michael Rowe was charged with Class 2 felony burglary, taken to the Ogle County Jail for processing and released with a notice to appear in court under the SAFE-T Act. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
