White Sox Lose Their 5th Straight Game, 9-5 To Cleveland

A 5-run first inning led the Cleveland Guardians to a 9-5 win over the Chicago White Sox on Friday night at Rate Field.

The White Sox suffered their 5th straight loss.

Carlos Santana drove in 4 runs and rookie C.J. Kayfus had a 3-run double for Cleveland.

Tanner Bibee pitched into the 6th inning to pick up his 8th win for the season.

The Guardians have won 4 straight game and 8 out of 11.

Aaron Civale took the loss for Chicago. He gave up 9 runs on 8 hits in 3 1/3 innings.

Brooks Baldwin had a solo home run for the White Sox.

Game 2 in the series is Saturday night in Chicago.
